“Architecture Lecture Series Poster." Digital Print. 2018.
After creating a modular typeface in my Typography II class, we were tasked with designing a 24x36 architecture lecture series poster using color and typography, with the modular typeface as the primary imagery. The aim of the project was to use the context of the poster to explore alphabetic form and function, to use systems to set conditions and play them out to make design, and to introduce the elements of space and time in the experience of typography.
The final product yields a poster that captures the viewer's attention with a bold blue tone and large mirrored "A"s that are reminiscent of architectural elements. It has a strong diagonal pull and follows an A-B-A rhythm, with small textual pieces broken up by the larger central forms.
